Jim Spence

Founder and CEO

Mr. Spence has over 31 years in Law Enforcement and since 2001 has been a private consultant in security and business investigatiions. His experience includes conducting complex investigations, organizational development, training programs and human resource management. Prior to his retirement from the San Jose Police Department Mr. Spence worked as manager, supervisor (Sergeant) and team leader in many areas including Missing Persons/Children, Homicide, Kidnapping, Covert Investigations, Hostage Negotiation, Special Operations (SWAT), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, Robbery and Crime Scene Investigations.

Mr. Spence has a teachng credential from University of California. His experience in Police Academies, Colleges and as a contract lecturer for the International Association of Chiefs of Police provides for extensive experience in teaching, training in the areas of enforcement procedures and crisis management. His experience is international having taught the Beijing China Police Department prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics on subjects dealing with terrorist threats and acts of mass violence.

Mr. Spence has spent time working in local goverment as a Policy Aide with the City of San Jose. His underestanding of complex public/private issues is a huge asset when dealing with corporate America.

Mr. Spence is a California Licensed Private Investigator and Private Patrol Operator. He has handled and successfully investigated internal corporate theft, fraud, cargo theft, workplace violence and employee terminations. He has conducted threat assessments on physical plants as well as for executive and dignitary personnel. His knowledge as a SWAT leader and hostage negotiator gives him a unique insight in to the needs and safety of the client.

Mr. Spence is a member of High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP). American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), International Association of Chief's of Police (IACP) and Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Spence earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law Enforcement with minors in Political Science and Psychology from San Jose State University. He has attended FBI Firearms Instructor Training, California Highway Patrol High Speed Driving School, Bondurant School of High Speed Driving Academy, California State Police Dignitary Protection School, FBI Terrorism and Hostage Negotiations School, FBI Dignitary Protection Course and reciepent of the Professional Safety Institute Workplace Security Certificate.
